Mommy's New Toy

I finally got my 50mm 1.4 lens. It's supposed to take sharp portraits with blurry backgrounds. I'm still learning how to use it, but I believe the lights in the back represent good "bokeh" whatever that means. I think it's a good thing.

We're trying to make good use of this Diesel jacket that she got from the Parr's when she was just 3 months old. It's a 9 month top and probably the last piece of Diesel clothing she'll get until she can purchase one herself!

The cell phone always seems to entertain the little miss. I sometimes call the cell phone from our land line just because I like to see her face light up when the phone rings in her hand. She always brings the phone to her ears and says hello in her baby chatter.

Olivia with her new snack-trap. Anything to do with food is always a big hit.

She reminds me of a pirate in this picture. Lame joke of the day: Where do pirates buy baby gifts? Babies "aarrggh" Us!

Eats with Fork

Daycare mentioned that Olivia eats well with the plastic forks, so we bought her a silverware set to check it out. She had a very determined look on her face as she was concentrating on piercing the chicken...

success! Olivia was very proud, as were her parents. We gave her lots of brocolli to practice with as well. All this eating with utensils was very tiring...

the girl went down without a fight

and she got in her favorite position for a good night's sleep!

Toughy

I love this picture of Olivia! She's got a ton of personality. We thought she was attracted to the color of the candy wrapper....

but later found out that she was sucking the chocolate right through the paper. She even had some 1/2 sucked through candy hidden next to the couch - the little sneak!

This is Olivia's toughy stance. Are you scared? I think it's hilarious.

What? WHAT?!!!

Some birthday gifts

Olivia loves this toy from the Wright's.

Her friends Aneliese and Shalimar gave this activity table. She can stand there for quite some time pushing the buttons and grooving to the 50 songs it plays!

The little miss also got a fancy schmancy gift from the Parr's. It was a gorgeous carousel china setting. She will have to use it for Thanksgiving....special occassions only. Nicole, thanks for the cute sweatsuit that she's wearing sans bottoms.

Olivia, the greatest gift of them all!

Playdate with Ryan and Alex

We went to Stacy's house to visit. Mindi came by and we finally got to meet baby Alex - what a cutie. He has the longest lashes ever, it's so unfair. Olivia really liked the playground, I mean, Stacy's living room :) Ryan was funny since he wanted to play with anything that Olivia had. He did a good job sharing though!

She's trying to sneak some leftover candy from Halloween. The basket has been quickly depleting....is it from Olivia or her mother? You decide!

Bday Party - Part 2

Even Olivia's left nostril got a piece of cake!

Ryan Zamalloa really enjoyed this party! His parents were cool enough to let him run around in the rain and stomp in puddles!

Hayden Ficht liked his parting gift

Here's a cute picture of Claire Wright. A big thanks to her parents, Tina and JP who treked on up from Temecula to make the party. Tina gave birth to her third baby girl, Lauren, just four days later - what a trooper!

Bday Party - Part 1

Despite the rain, everyone made a huge effort and showed up to Olivia's bday party at the park! Many kids left soggy, and we want to thank you all for helping us celebrate Olivia's first birthday. What nice friends we have!!!

Olivia's cake was made by my friend and co-worker, Jodie Williams. She did a great job and everyone loved the cake! I don't know what this girl is doing in the insurance world! Check out her blog with all her different cake designs at http://www.beansylovescake.blogspot.com/

Olivia is in awe of her pretty cake
