My cousin Sarah was in town and we took the family to Disneyland. Olivia was thrilled to pieces. After endlessly asking, "we going to Disneyland?" we finally said, YES, we are going to Disneyland! Here we are on the tram...
We went to California Adventures first, but Olivia was too short for Soaring Over California, so we hung out while the rest of the gang did the line.
We saw Goofy, but she was scared of him. She tightened up in my arms, but she said, "Where Mickey? Maybe Goofy know where Mickey is." And she demanded that I ask him. I thought, gee, if she has the same reaction to the other characters, she's not going to have much fun today. But as soon as we got to Disneyland, she saw Pinnochio and Geppeto and although hesitant at first, she got comfortable and took a picture.
She was waving at the camera, not flagging me to save her! Grandpa bought her the movie and she just loves it. She calls Geppeto "Father," just like Pinnochio does.
My cousin Sarah and Joe also wanted a picture with the two, but all the kids kept cutting in, so they took Olivia with them and they were finally legit enough for a picture :)
With Olivia and Aiyana
Daddy and the little Miss.
We went on the Pirates ride with Olivia and she was a little scared, but mostly wide-eyed. Then we went to lunch at Club 33 - yippeeeee
Here's the gang: me, Vincent, Olivia, Joe, Aiyana, Sarah and Auntie Marjie.
Olivia ate so well, she had Mickey Mouse pasta and lots of vegetables. She ate so well that she was allowed an entire plateful of dessert! Daddy ate her leftovers of course!
Olivia on the throne at Club 33. I have no shame.
We split up with the gang after lunch so that we could do princessy things and the kiddy rides that Aiyana was just too cool for at her age ;) Olivia loved the Pooh Bear ride.
She wasn't too sure what to expect. This was her famous wide eyed look during most of the rides that day...
Back at the Castle on our way to Fantasyland.
Peter Pan ride was one of our favorites.
Here she is with Minnie. Her goal was to meet Minnie and Cinderella. She kept saying that she wanted to give Mickey a hug, "but the girl Mickey, not the boy Mickey."
Parade time. Olivia had a blast and apparently so did I.
Next up was It's a Small World which I hadn't been to since the remodel. It's nice and very colorful. Olivia didn't know where to feast her eyes. It was sensory overload for sure. They made the ride longer, or maybe it just seemed longer because of the repeating music. It's a fantastic yet at the same time terrible song that you sing the entire day. I'm still singing it as I type - and now, you're probably singing it too.
Then it was the best part of her day, the Princess Show. But before that, we stood in line for half an hour to meet some of the princesses. Here she is with Ariel.
And Belle,
And Princess Tiana from the Princess and the Frog.
A princess comes for storytime and tells the kids about her life. Olivia was so excited and hopeful that it would be Cinderella, but it was Ariel who told her story.
The ladies in waiting teach the little girls how to wave and curtsy like princesses, and then all the princess come out and some even dance with the kids.
Olivia's wish came true and she got to meet Cinderella. Not only that, Cinderella held her hand and danced with her!!!
Pictures with the Princesses. Sleeping Beauty
Cinderella
and Snow White
Our two last rides were the Teacups
This girl LOVED it. She kept screaming, "faster, faster."
And finally, Dumbo.
We had a blast. Next time we'll take Camille :)
