Olivia and Camille have been in their new school for 2 full months now and they are both loving it. Olivia’s French has improved so much and every night she enjoys doing her “homework” which is a Kindergarten workbook that we bought from Costco. She’s learning phonics, patterns and numbers. A few of the pages have pictures of items that you’re supposed to count and then write the number value next to the pictures; last night she impressed me by counting in French and quickly writing the correct number down. It’s amazing how much she’s absorbed that it’s automatic. The school is very keen on emotional intelligence, they even have a class called Heart Math which is supposed to help children develop emotional self-management skills, reduce violence, increase self-esteem and self-reliance and improve learning and retention. It’s hippie but it’s cool. Her favorite friends at school are Olivia B., Bryce and Chloe.

Camille is the little leader in her class, she walks around with her arms behind her back and a sly look on her face wondering how she can cause trouble or scold another kid. The girl is pure comedy. Her vocabulary is growing so much and she enjoys singing. Frere Jaques is her favorite song by far! And, because we’ve been practicing the alphabet so much with Olivia, sister is also singing along now. Whatever Olivia does, she wants to do too. So when Olivia is doing her homework, we give Camille her own homework book which is just a coloring book – she loves it. She’s still an excellent eater, usually the last one at the dinner table because she asks for more and then ends up eating her sister’s leftovers. Camille loves playing hide and seek and her favorite movies are Tangled and Shrek.
